KENNEBUNK, MAINE – The Kennebunk Savings Bank Foundation’s Huntington Common Charitable Fund is now accepting grant requests. Last year through the Fund, the Kennebunk Savings Foundation contributed over $100,000 to area programs for seniors, and included grants to Community Harvest, People’s Regional Opportunity Program’s Winterization Program, SMMC Visiting Nurses, The Iris Network, The Warren Center for Communication, York County Food Rescue, and York County Shelters Program.
Recently Kennebunk Savings President and CEO Brad Paige delivered a check to York County Food Rescue for $12,500. York County Food Rescue has seen a dramatic rise in the need for food from the forty-three food pantries and meal programs for whom they provide food. (see photo).
Grant applications are now being accepted. Organizations dedicated to improving the lives of seniors, including those which help with food, medical care, housing and fuel assistance, among other services are encouraged to apply for funding by March 1, 2010 and can apply online at www.kennebunksavings.com. Guided by a Board of Advisors, the Kennebunk Savings Bank Foundation’s Huntington Common Charitable Funds go toward helping seniors (ages 65 and older) throughout York County. The Huntington Common Charitable Fund is part of Kennebunk Savings Community Investment Program that has contributed over $7 million to area nonprofit organizations since 1994.
